• Deux institutions du British National Space Centre, à savoir le Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council (Conseil de recherche en physique des particules et en astronomie) et le Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils (Conseil du laboratoire central des conseils scientifiques), ont fusionné pour former le Science and Technology Facilities Council, grand conseil des établissements scientifiques et techniques.
